New 5.11 Tactical Flashlight Packaging

I've designed all the packaging for a new series of rechargeable flashlights and newer battery operated lights, including the new PLuv - a small compact light featuring UV light. Cool stuff.

I feel like I've been doing flashlight packaging for the last 2 months.

Concept Website - Lauren Ashley • Model

Lauren is a model we've used for a few projects with Encore Automotive Systems. I designed a website for her in an attempt to help her get more modeling work and in return maybe I could get some more freelance work. She declined... so this concept is dead. But I thought it turned out nice.

You can check Lauren out at:

5.11 Tactical - Brand ads

I created these concepts for some brand ads. Although we haven't used them domestically, I sent them to our Marketing team in Europe.

Check'em out:

5.11 Days - Logo Concept

Today is May 11th or also known as 5.11 Days. I designed the main logo concept (below right). The other two logos were scrapped.  A fellow designer (Phil Baird) took my concept and did tee's, POS, banners, flyers, etc...

5.11 Days t-shirt - my concept - Phil Baird final tee design.

5.11 Signature Store - Fresno, my logo concept - Phil Baird final design. Phil did a great job incorporating some red for a splash of color and some subtle halftone pattern to give it some edge.

Radioman Documentary Film - Poster

I recently replied to a Craigslist posting out of New York City for a graphic designer to design a poster for an independent documentary film called "Radioman". It's about a homeless man in NYC who has become a movie legend with over 100 film credits to his name. I was shocked to see the A-List celebrities interviewed throughout the documentary - George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Meryl Streep, Robin Williams, Sting, etc...

I was given a 3 day turnaround deadline. And by industry standards - not the greatest photo's to work with. The logo was supplied.

I took the original concept from the Producer Paul Fischer, but ended up putting my own spin on it.

I am very proud to be apart of this and to create the imagery for the film. It premiered on April 26th, 2012 at HotDocs: Canadian International Documentary Festival.

Ultimately they used a poster I whipped up at the last moment and sent with the 2 main final versions. It wasn't my favorite, but I'm still very proud, happy and excited for the finished posters.

Here are the drawing from Producer Paul Fischer. You can see how far I took these posters from the original concept. I chuckled when I saw the drawings. LOL.

These are the original photos used for two posters.
